On 24th May 2023, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry published a notification regarding the Export Policy of broken rice under HS Code 1006 40 00.  The export policy of broken rice is prohibited; however, the export will be allowed on the basis of permission granted by the Government of India to other countries to meet their food security needs and based on the request of their Government.
