On 16th June 2023, FSSAI released an order in reference drawn to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has notified the Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules, 2021, which prohibits the manufacturing, Import, stocking, distribution, sale, and use of single-use plastic items. Food Safety Officers and Designated Officers of their respective jurisdictions will ensure the effectiveness of compliance with the issued rule.
