Food Safety Works, participated in the talk organized by Consumer Care Society

Food Safety Works participated in a Consumer Care Society talk in Bangalore on June 9 to celebrate World Food Safety Day.

Speakers included

  • Ms. Kamala Bai (Deputy Commissioner, FSSAI Karnataka),
  • Ms. Sarika Agarwal (MD, Food Safety Works), and
  • Dr. Ganesh H (DO, Bangalore West). The event was presided over by 
  • Mr. Gopal Ratnam, Secretary, Consumer Care Society, Bangalore.

Ms. Kamala Bai shared details of various initiatives FSSAI is taking to ensure safe food for consumers. Ms. Sarika talked about the various aspects of keeping food safe from the hazards. Dr. Ganesh explained the FLRS, licensing schemes, and the requirements for obtaining a license, including the need for an FSMS plan. Closing the discussion, Mr. Gopal highlighted how Food Safety is not just everyone’s business but also everyone’s responsibility. The Food Safety on Wheels unit was at the venue, allowing participants to see and try tests for common adulterants.
