Following the consumption of a “shawarma” roll—a type of Middle Eastern minced meat roll—from a restaurant in Kochi, Kerala, a 22-year-old man passed away on Wednesday from what appeared to be food poisoning. He had multi-organ failure syndrome and acute septicemia symptoms.
