FSSAI permits FBOs to operate with ARN until the end of lock down period

FSSAI has been extending the best possible support to ensure uninterrupted food service/supply during the COVID-19 lockdown period. FBOs except manufacturers can temporarily operate their food business, on the basis of a valid receipt of FSSAI license/ registration application having a 17 digit application reference number (ARN) generated on Food licensing & registration system (FLRS). To start the operations

  1.  FBOs have to apply for FSSAI license/registration by completing the online application with the prescribed fee through the online mode on FLRS .
  2. After submitting the application, FBOs need to send an email to the concerned  licensing /registering authority/Commissioner of Food safety about commencing his food business through the Form M. The same should be signed by the Proprietor/Director/ Partner/ senior employee of the applicant. In case any queries are raised on application by the authorities, same must be answered and the FBOs must follow the instructions given by the authorities. FBOs whose application is rejected by the licensing/registration authority need to stop all of their food business activities immediately.

This permission  is applicable only for those applicants who are allowed to operate during the lockdown period. FBO shall stop its operations related to food at the said premises within 30 days after lockdown ends unless a valid FSSAI license/registration is obtained.  In case of State/UT specific lockdown this permission shall be limited to that specific State / UT
