On 27th July 2022, FSSAI issued an order with respect to the collection of 18 % GST for various food businesses, regarding the application fee for Central license/registration, the penalty for renewal of the license or late filing of annual returns, registration fee for Food Safety Mitra and permission for using pre-printed packaging material, with effect from 18th July 2022. The GST applicable on State license and registration fees and penalties is on a reverse charge basis.
