On 12th October 2022, FSSAI provided the easy facility for advance filing of Bill of Entry in the Food Import Clearance System (FICS) of FSSAI forwarded from Customs ICEGATE so that the scrutiny of documents submitted by the Food Importer to the Authorized Officer is carried out in advance, before the actual arrival of the articles of food at the port. Food Importers/FBOs are advised to avail of this facility of advance processing of the Bill of Entry in FICS while importing food consignments, thus reducing the overall food import clearance time and demurrage charges.
