On 10th November 2022, FSSAI issued a clarification regarding the sale of Hemp seeds and seed products. The Hemp seeds and seed products are standardized under sub-regulation 2.16 of FSS (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011. Hence it is allowed FBOs to sell such products on e-commerce websites also, subject to holding a valid FSSAI license and compliance with the prescribed standards.
