Free Webinar: Safe to Serve - The Scientific Approach

• On 6 June 2025, NXG Food Safety Works hosted a 90-minute live webinar titled “Safe to Serve – The Scientific Approach” in celebration of World Food Safety Day. Moderated by Ms. Sarika Agarwal, Managing Director & Principal Consultant at Food Safety Works, the session featured distinguished speakers Dr. H. N. Mishra from IIT Kharagpur and Mr. Prakash Ramarao, Senior Leader in Quality & Compliance.

The conversation explored the evolution of food safety systems, emphasizing the crucial role of data and technology in modern food safety management. Speakers highlighted the importance of adopting a scientific mindset in everyday food operations to enhance safety from production through consumption.

• Food Safety Works conducted engaging food safety awareness activities across various corporate sites. One of the highlights was the “Word Hunt Challenge,” where participants searched through a custom-designed grid to spot commonly used food safety related terms such as hygiene, expiry date, contamination, allergens, and more. This fun and educational activity helped reinforce essential concepts in a way that was relatable to consumers. Another crowd-favorite was the “Guess Who I Am?” label clues game, which challenged employees to identify everyday food products like peanut butter or packaged snacks by reading between the lines of ingredient hints and health claims. These hands-on, interactive formats not only sparked curiosity but also deepened 250+ participants’ understanding of food safety risks and how to be more alert as consumers. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with most participants expressing that the activities made food safety simple, relevant, and actionable.

Here’s what a few of the participants had to say:

💬 “Loved the games! Didn’t expect food safety could be this much fun!”

💬 “Such a creative way to spread awareness. And I’m totally eyeing that goodie!”

💬 “Fun + Learning = Perfect combo! Kudos to the NXG FSW team!”

💬 “The quiz made me think twice about my kitchen habits — in a good way!”

• As part of the World Food Safety Day 2025 celebrations, Food Safety Works created and shared an informative consumer-focused presentation titled “Food Safety: Science in Action.” This digital resource was designed to simplify the science behind safe food for the public and was shared widely across social media platforms. The presentation highlighted the impact of unsafe food, the role of science at every step of the food chain, and the power of science to unite global food safety efforts. With clear visuals and simplified messaging, it encouraged viewers to make informed choices, recognize the value of food safety in daily life, and take small but meaningful actions as consumers. This content served as an accessible learning tool for audiences across different age groups and professions, reinforcing the message that smart science leads to safer food.
