The FSSAI issued a Gazette Notification on October 17, 2024, proposing amendments to the FSS (Contaminants, Toxins, and Residues) Regulations, 2011, concerning crop contaminants and naturally occurring toxins. The draft includes a list of antimicrobials and veterinary drugs that are prohibited at any stage of production for meat, meat products, milk, dairy products, poultry, eggs, aquaculture products, and honey, including restrictions on antibiotic use.

This regulation is set to take effect on April 1, 2025.
