HACCP Certification

HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) is an internationally recognized standard that defines the requirements for the effective control of food safety. It is a generic framework that may be applied to any food business, be a manufacturer, ingredient provider, food service organization, transporter, retailer or warehouse. It is a key element of the CODEX General Principles of Food Hygiene.

HACCP is built around seven principles:

  • Conduct Hazard Analysis of biological, chemical or physical food hazards
  • Determine critical control points
  • Establish critical control limits, for example, minimum cooking temperature and time
  • Establish a system to monitor control of critical control points
  • Establish corrective actions
  • Establish procedure for verification to confirm that the HACCP system is working effectively
  • Establish documentation and record keeping

The scheme is based on the existing internationally recognized standard ISO 22000 and complemented by technical standards, such as ISO TS 22002-1 for food manufacturing and ISO TS 22002-4 for packaging manufacturing. The version 6 of the standards was recently published which included some major changes in the standard.

BRCGS Certification

The BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety has set the benchmark for over 25 years. Adopted by over 22,000 sites in more than 130 countries, the standard is accepted by leading global brands and retailers.

Now in its ninth issue, the standard gives organisations working in the food industry a framework for managing the safety, integrity and quality of their products and services. This includes retailers, manufacturers, importers, caterers and ingredient suppliers. Many retailers across the UK, the US and Europe will only do business with suppliers who have passed an audit and been accredited by a BRCGS certification body.

FSMA Certification

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) represents a landmark reform in U.S. food safety laws aimed at reducing foodborne illnesses through preventive controls across the entire supply chain. Enacted in 2011, FSMA enhances the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act with science-based standards covering the safe production, harvesting, packing, and storage of raw agricultural commodities.

Key elements of FSMA include Hazard Analysis Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC), accredited third-party certification, the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), produce safety standards, transportation regulations, and food defense protocols. FSMA mandates FDA inspections and requires comprehensive documentation including employee training, sanitation records, and food safety plans.

This law applies to all domestic and foreign businesses producing food for the U.S. market — manufacturers, processors, packers, distributors, and importers alike. Compliance ensures your product meets the highest safety standards demanded by U.S. regulators and consumers.

HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC, FSMA, and FSSAI are key certifications for ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.

We assist with gap analysis, system design, documentation, training, and internal audits to ensure smooth certification.
