Tech4Food | Second Meet Up

Tech4Food visits Akshayakalpa Farm at Tiptur.

The 2nd Meet Up of Tech4Food was conducted on the  17th of December 2023 at the famed Akshahakapla RnD centre at Tiptur. Tech4Food continues its efforts to build a community that converges tech enthusiasts and food industry professionals. This meet-up was an extraordinary day of networking collaboration and inspiration.

For the introductory session Mr. Ramesh Agarwal , CEO , Food Safety Works inaugurated the session and spoke about the need for a community like Tech4Food . He also spoke about the intricacies of the food business and elaborated upon the nature of food business operations and corresponding changes with the kind of product. He also reiterated the need for implementing customized technology-based solutions that can elevate the standards of food safety leading to great customer satisfaction.

Following Mr. Ramesh’s inaugural note, Mr. Shashi, Founder & CEO, of Akshayakalpa Organics elaborated on his journey to take Akshayakapla where it is today. He also spoke about the interventions from the tech sector they have incorporated into their process flows over some time.  He also spoke about how cloud-based technology helps them to monitor milk data collected from different dairy units in real-time. Mr. Shashi also highlighted initiatives that have transformed Akshayakalpa to become a model farm-based business.

Followed by the keynote address by Mr. Shashi, Mr. Naveen Philip, AVP – Growth at Auditflo; who showcased their product suite. He spoke about their tool and showcased use cases wherein their tool has helped streamline process flows and monitoring of data. Mr. Naveen also spoke about use cases from allied and adjacent industry verticals.

Post the knowledge sessions, the participants visited the Dairy Processing Centre for an interaction with the technical team. The participants were given a detailed factory tour followed by a small tasting session for the latest offerings for Akshayakalpa Organics. The participants also visited the on-premise Dairy and Non-Dairy units and sampled various produce at the Non-Dairy Unit. To conclude the day with a visit to the vegetable farm. The participants also observed and assimilated the various MIS parameters used at the farm. The farm sessions were very interactive with highlights of the initiative taken at the micro level to bring up per-unit productivity and revenues.

Tech4Food’s 2nd meeting was a day-long knowledge absorption and interaction. While it helped the participants understand the tech interventions at the farm, it also generated a huge amount of curiosity towards farming. The event also helped foster networking and collaboration between the participants.
