FSSAI: Direction – Re-operationalisation of FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021

On 19th July 2024, FSSAI issued a direction regarding the re-operationalisation of FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2018 which were approved in the meeting held on 21st Sep 2017. The amendments are in respect of the following sections:

  1. Section I: Licensing and Registration of E-commerce FBO
  2. Section II: Documents to be enclosed for a new application for license to state/central licensing authority for restaurant
  3. Section III: Conditions for a license for the restaurant
  4. Section IV: Part II of Schedule 4 relating to general requirements on hygiene and sanitary practices to be followed by all FBOs applying for a license
  5. Section V: Part IV of Schedule 4 relating to establishing a small slaughter-house
  6. Section VI: Part V of Schedule 4 relating to good hygienic and manufacturing practices to be followed by licensed FBOs engaged in catering or food service operations.
