Eat Right Initiatives
Eat Right Campus
The Eat Right India initiative is FSSAI’s national movement to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food habits. eatrightindia.gov.in+2Press Information Bureau+2 Food Safety Works supports this vision by helping food businesses align with Eat Right goals — improving hygiene, reducing unhealthy ingredients, and certifying food sites for safety and nutritional integrity.
Why Eat Right Matters
Eat Right India addresses major public health and environmental challenges by focusing on safety, health, and sustainability. For food businesses, this means more than just compliance — it’s about building trust, enabling behaviour change, and contributing to a movement that affects both consumers and communities.
Key Pillars of Eat Right India
Safe Food: Focuses on hygiene, reducing contaminants, and following good safety practices in every step of the supply chain.
Healthy Diet: Encourages reformulating products to reduce salt, sugar, fat, and eliminate trans fats; it also promotes fortified staple foods.
Sustainable Practices: Supports eco-friendly packaging, reduction of food waste, and use of waste cooking oil (RUCO) to repurpose responsibly.

How Food Safety Works Supports Eat Right Initiatives
Training & Capacity Building
We help you conduct FoSTaC (Food Safety Training & Certification) programs in your organisation. This empowers your food handlers, vendors, and FSS to follow hygiene standards. Through our training academy, we conduct workshops and digital courses tailored to Eat Right’s hygiene and nutrition goals.
Food Safety System Design
We create or upgrade your food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP) to align with Eat Right’s “safe food” standards. We support process design to integrate healthy reformulation — such as reducing salt, sugar or fat in recipes.
Audit & Certification Support
We perform hygiene audits inspired by Eat Right’s standards (such as hygiene rating for street food, Food Service Establishments).
We help your business apply for / maintain Eat Right certification on campuses, schools, or food hubs (depending on FSSAI initiatives).
Sustainability & Waste Management
We advise on setting up systems to repurpose used cooking oil (RUCO) in compliance with sustainability guidelines.
We recommend eco-friendly packaging and resource-efficient operations to align with the Eat Right focus on sustainability.
