On 16th February 2022, the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change issued a notification on Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. The amendment provides detailed guidelines on Extended Producer Responsibility (Producer, Importer, and Brand Owner) for Plastic Packaging and its targets.
