On 10th February 2023, FSSAI issued an order regarding reduction of initial application fee for FSSAI License to Rs.1000 + GST (as applicable) to promote new businesses/startups. After submission of the application with the initial fee of Rs.1000 + GST, the application will be scrutinized by concerned Licensing Authority and if found to be in order in all respects, the differential amount of the License Fee, i.e. total applicable license fee minus Rs.1000 (already paid as initial application fee) along with the GST (as applicable) on the differential amount shall be collected from the FBO prior grant of FSSAI license. In case of the rejection of application on any grounds, there will only be a loss of Rs.1000 + GST for the FBO. This order will be applicable for new applications submitted on or after 10.02.2023.
