FSSAI extends compliance date for renewal of license/registration due to COVID-19

Food Business Operators (FBOs) who generally take 3rd party help to file applications for the renewal of their FSSAI license or registrations are currently not being able to accomplish the filing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the current lock-down situation in the country. Therefore, taking the situation into consideration, FSSAI has issued the following:

  1. Date of application for renewal of license/registration is extended till 30thof June 2020 for those FBOs whose license has expired or would be expiring during the period of 22nd March 2020 to 31st May 2020. The Late fee wouldn’t be applicable in this scenario and the current license would be valid in the interim.
  2. For UT’s of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh: Date of application for renewal of license/registration is extended till 30thof June 2020 for those FBOs whose license has expired or would be expiring during the period of 1st August  2019 to 31st May 2020. These UT’s had an interrupted internet services in the past. Though the internet services are now restored, the movement is restricted however due to the COVID-19 situation, and thus it is dated from 1st August 2019. The Late fee wouldn’t be applicable in this scenario and the current license would be valid in the interim.
