On 18th June 2024, FSSAI issued an order to:

1. Prohibit the sale of unsafe Food: If the food sample lifted By CFSO/FSO is found unsafe in the report of the primary Food laboratory, then the DO/CLA shall direct FBOs to prohibit the sale of unsafe food products

2. Recall Unsafe Food: After implementing Prohibition of Sale, the food is to be recalled  in the following cases:

          a) If the FBO prefers an appeal against the report of the primary lab and the report of the food analyst of the referral Laboratory declares the food unsafe.

          b) If the FBO does not prefer an appeal within the stipulated time period.
