On 7th November 2023, FSSAI issued a direction regarding display of ‘Best Before Date’ in case of non-packaged/ loose sweets. It has been clarified that the FBOs may declare ‘Best Before Date’ on non-packaged sweets/ loose sweet containers/ trays on a voluntary/ optional basis.
