On 27^th April 2023, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change issued a gazette notification regarding the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2023. The amendments are regarding the validity of the provisional certificate for biodegradable plastics, condition for change of registration and requirement of PAN number, GST number, CIN number (as applicable) for the registration. The last date for the filing of annual returns is 31^st October 2023 (for producers, importers and brand owners of plastic packaging) and 31^st July 2023 (for plastic waste processors, recyclers and other waste processors including industrial composting facilities) for the financial year 2022-2023.
