On 11th January 2023, FSSAI issued an order regarding the instant renewal of license or registration. The Food Authority has decided to grant instant renewal to all licenses/ registrations upon submission of the application, without a requirement of scrutiny or approval of the concerned authority, subject to certain conditions. It has also been stated that the validity of the renewal for the license shall be for 1 year only and that of registration shall be from 1 to 5 years based on the selection and payment made by FBO in the application. 

The validity of the new license is also now restricted to only 1 year and for new registration, it can be for a period between 1 to 5 years, based on the selection & payment made by FBO.
