To ensure continuous food services/supply and to continue essential trade during COVID-19 lockdown, FSSAI has come up with temporary guidelines related to imports. The importers of Crude Oil Consignments and Food Grains are required to declare and submit the declaration form to Authorized Officer. The Authorized officer is required to conduct a visual inspection on the same day and upon satisfactory visual inspection, the officer is required to draw samples and issue a Provisional No Objection Certificate (P-NOC) without waiting for the laboratory results. After the final report is received, the authorized officer is required to issue the final No Objection Certificate, provided the results conform to the FSSAI standards. This interim modification to the guidelines was initially valid till 15.4.20 and now extended up to 30.5.20 or till further orders in this regard, whichever is earlier.
